Hae-kyung Park

  • Park Hae-kyung is an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Translation & Interpretation and a seasoned conference interpreter.
    She has interpreted at more than 2,000 international conferences since 1988 in a variety of domains that span politics, economy, IT, and medicine. She has interpreted for the Korea-Japan Summit, Korea-China-Japan Summit, and Korea-Japan Ministerial Meeting.
    Professor Park has conducted extensive research since completing her coursework for a doctoral program at Kwansei Gakuin University (関西学院大学). She was a visiting scholar at Rikkyo University (立教大学), and has served as President of the Korean Association of Japanese Translation and Interpretation, affiliated to the Korea Association of Japanology, since 2013. She is member of the Advisory Committee on Spelling of Foreign Loan Words of the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) and the Seoul Metropolitan Government. 
    Her publications include <i>Korean-Japanese terminology 7500</i> (『한일전문용어사전 7500』, Japansisa), <i>Japanese for International Conferences</i> (『국제회의 통역노트』, Ewha University Press), <i>The World of Korean-Japanese Interpretation and Translation</i> (『한일통번역의 세계』, Japansisa). She has also published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals.
